You are welcome!
We invite you to join us in one of our Sunday church services. You will find a friendly, down to earth group of people who love and follow Jesus.
No matter who you are, you don’t need to feel uncomfortable or out of place. Whether you are a Christian or simply seeing what church is like, we will be very glad to meet you! We welcome and appreciate all who are willing to come and listen to the preaching of God’s Word.
Our services are centred around the sound and honest preaching of God’s Word. You don’t have to agree or believe the same as we do to attend one of our services.
Whether you are a Christian seeking to worship, serve, & draw closer to God, or someone seeking meaning & truth in this dark world, we sincerely invite you to join us at our next service as we worship our wonderful and mighty God.
We hope to see you soon!
God is a Spirit:
and they that worship him
must worship him in spirit and in truth.
What is a Sunday service like?
When you join us for our Sunday morning worship service you will be given a friendly welcome on your arrival. The service begins by the pastor welcoming the congregation and sharing the weekly announcements. We then worship, praise, and thank God by singing 1 or 2 congregational hymns together.
After our worship in song, someone will pray on behalf of the church. The preacher will then stand and share a message giving understanding or application to a Bible passage or truth. Opportunity is given at the end of the message for individuals to respond to God’s Word in private reflection or prayer. The service typically lasts just over an hour. Following the service we often chat and catch up over a tea or coffee.
Our gathering on Sunday is a response to God’s invitation for us to draw close and meet with Him. The service is in many ways a conversation where we speak to God through praise and thanks. We also bring our burdens, concerns and requests to God through prayer. We then listen to God through the preaching of His Word. At the end of the service we have opportunity to personaly respond to what God has spoken to us by answering him in private prayer. We hope and trust that you will find each of the following when you join us on Sunday:
But I’ve never been to church …
If you are unfamiliar with church or Christian worship we want you to know that you are welcome and need not feel uncomfortable in any way. If you don’t want to sing with us – that’s fine! If you don’t want to say Amen when we pray – that’s fine! You are welcome to just sit and listen – we appreciate you visiting us. If you don’t agree with us – that’s fine too! We simply ask that you listen respectfully and don’t disrupt the service.
During the preaching of God’s Word you may feel challenged. That’s normal! Sometimes when God speaks to us it is comforting and uplifting. At other times preaching can be correcting or challenging. If you feel challenged by truth you need not feel you are alone. God’s truth is challenging to each and everyone one of us! If you are challenged by something said from the pulpit know that the truth being preached is from God’s Bible and is proclaimed to all.
The message is offered to you for your consideration and deliberation. Although the preacher may passionately raise his voice, know that the truth is being proclaimed with love and that it is entirely up to you what you do with it. We will not pressure you to accept or believe what is proclaimed. It is between you and God.
Come and see…
Come unto me,
all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
What should I wear?
You will find that most come to church dressed in neat and tidy in clothes like jeans and a shirt. Those leading the service and some people in the congregation may choose to dress more formally. Most who worship regulary wear something neat out of respect for the fact that they are intending to meet with God that day. But if you are dressed more casualy – that’s fine! God (and us) are more interested in you, than the clothes you are wearing.
How do I get there?
We meet for our services at the:
Levy Street Hall
Levy St., Rangeway
If it is not easy for you to make your own way there please contact us. We may be able to arrange a lift for you.
What about the kids?
All ages are welcome at our services. Our building facilities don’t currently allow us to have a sperate childrens area during the service. We understand that young children being a little noisy or distracted is a part of family life. We love families with babies and young ones joining services.
How long is the service?
Our services start at 11AM and are typically around 1 hour long. However, many choose to stay a little longer to have a chat over a tea or coffee.
Does it cost anything?
There is absolutely no cost involved with attending our services. Nor will we ask you for an offering. We do not pass an offering plate around during the service, so you will never feel uncomfortable or obliged to give.
